A print shop runs on turnaround. The artwork arrives Tuesday, the client wants forty finished pieces by Friday, and the press itself is rarely the problem. The blank is. If the garment isn't in your hands, in the right colour and size spread, nothing else in your workflow matters.
Most decorators in the UAE solve this badly — container orders from overseas marketplaces, mixed-origin stock of unknown fibre content, or retail-priced panic buys when a deadline slips. This guide covers the two questions that decide your margin: where to source blanks locally, and which fabrics actually behave under each print method.
Your blanks supply matters more than your printer
Decorators buy differently from brand founders. A brand orders a drop two or three times a year. A print shop orders every week, against client deadlines it doesn't control, and every reprint has to match the last run — same style, same colour, same fit. That changes what a good supplier looks like.
Importing your own blanks means sea freight of roughly 14–18 days from China plus 5% GCC customs duty on the CIF value — workable for planned stock, useless for a Thursday deadline. It also means holding inventory risk in a business whose entire advantage is holding none. Whatever you don't print, you own.
Buying locally flips that equation. Blanks held in Dubai mean you quote a job on Monday knowing the garments exist, in stock, an hour away. Low minimums mean you buy against confirmed orders instead of forecasting. That is the supply model a decoration business is actually built for — and it's exactly what premium blanks from a Dubai supplier are for.
Match the blank to the method
The fastest way to lose a client is putting good artwork on the wrong fabric. Here is how the main methods pair with what's actually on our shelves. For a deeper comparison of the methods themselves, read our guides to screen print vs DTG vs embroidery and puff print, DTF and heat transfer.
DTG: high cotton, smooth face
Direct-to-garment ink bonds with natural fibre. The higher the cotton content, the cleaner the result. The natural home for DTG in our range is the Relaxed Tee — premium 230gsm 100% cotton with a soft brushed hand feel, in an oversized cut that gives artwork room. For heavier pieces, the 100% cotton loopback hoodies and crews take DTG well. Dark garments need pretreatment and a white underbase; build that into your pricing, not your apology.
Screen printing: cotton and blends, discipline on synthetics
Screen printing is the volume workhorse and the most forgiving on fabric choice. Cotton and cotton-blend pieces — the All Day Tee and Self Love Cropped Tee, both cut from lightweight cotton blend fabric with stretch — handle standard plastisol and water-based inks without drama. Synthetics are where discipline matters: polyester dyes can migrate into ink under high cure temperatures, so performance pieces need low-cure or low-bleed systems and a test print. If your shop doesn't run those, route synthetic jobs to DTF.
DTF: the flexible default for performance fabric
Direct-to-film transfers bond to cotton, blends and synthetics alike, which makes DTF the default for the performance side of the catalogue: the Everyday Tee in lightweight quick-dry synthetic, the Reset Raglan Performance Tee in lightweight mesh quick-dry fabric, and the Elemental Button Up Performance Polo with its brushed-finish synthetic quick-dry face. Gym clients, padel clubs and corporate teams order exactly these pieces — DTF is how you print them without a dye-migration headache.
Embroidery: weight and structure
Embroidery needs a fabric that can carry stitch density without puckering. The 355gsm 100% cotton loopback Flux Oversize Hoodie is the strongest canvas in the range; the Reset Oversized Zip Hoodie, Epic Cropped Zip Hoodie and Heritage Crewneck Pullover — all 100% cotton loopback — are built for left-chest logos and are what gyms order for coach and staff kit. Keep dense embroidery off lightweight mesh performance pieces; that's transfer territory. Fabric weight does a lot of quiet work here — our GSM guide explains why.
The print-shop matrix: what we stock, what it costs
Every piece below is held as unbranded stock in Dubai, in neutral colourways — black, white, greys and muted tones — that act as a clean canvas for client artwork. Prices are current retail list in AED; wholesale and volume pricing come through a direct conversation.

Stock logic for a decoration business
A few operating rules we see the best print shops in Dubai follow:
- Buy against orders, not forecasts. Low minimums exist so you can order per job. Margin lives in what you don't have sitting on a shelf. More on how low-MOQ supply works in our low MOQ guide.
- Standardise your blanks menu. Quote clients on a fixed set of styles you know print well, rather than sourcing a new garment per job. Reprints stay consistent and your pricing stays predictable.
- Test before the run. One sample piece through the press tells you more than any spec sheet. Order the sample, print it, keep it as your reference standard.
- Know your weights. A 355gsm hoodie and a lightweight mesh tee behave differently under heat and pressure. If weight categories are fuzzy, our heavyweight vs midweight breakdown is the short version.
What to avoid
Three mistakes cost UAE decorators the most money. Printing on unknown fibre content — if you can't say what the garment is made of, you can't pick the method, and mixed-origin marketplace stock rarely tells you. Importing for deadline work — freight timelines and customs are for planned inventory, never for a live client job. And switching blanks mid-account — a client's reorder should match their first order exactly, which means a supplier whose stock is consistent, not whoever was cheapest that week. That consistency is the argument for holding one local supplier relationship, covered from the brand side in our blank t-shirts wholesale guide and wholesale hoodies guide.

FAQ: blanks for UAE print shops
Which blanks work best for DTF printing in the UAE?
DTF bonds to nearly everything, which is why it dominates performance work. Quick-dry synthetic pieces — the Everyday Tee, Reset Raglan Performance Tee and Elemental polos — are the usual candidates, and cotton and blend tees take DTF cleanly too. If a job mixes fabric types, DTF is the one method that covers the whole run.
Do you supply unbranded blanks to print shops?
Yes. Everything we stock is a blank — no external branding, in black, white, greys and neutral tones designed to carry your client's artwork. Decorators are a core customer, not an afterthought.
What do blanks cost in Dubai?
Current list prices run from AED 120–200 for tees, AED 160 for performance polos, and AED 260–280 for cotton loopback hoodies, zips and crews. Print shops ordering recurring volume should contact us for trade pricing.
How fast can I get blanks for a client job?
Stock is held in Dubai and ships from Dubai — no freight timelines, no customs clearance between you and the deadline. Check live availability on the site, order what the job needs, print.
Can I DTG print on polyester performance fabric?
Not with standard DTG — the ink needs natural fibre to bond. Keep DTG for high-cotton pieces like the 230gsm Relaxed Tee, and run synthetics as DTF or heat transfer instead. Our method comparison guide covers the decision in full.
