Every blanks order we see from September onwards has the same gap. Tees, shorts, hoodies — covered. Layers — missing. Then the first 6am outdoor session of the season lands in November, the team is standing around in single layers, and a rushed follow-up order arrives with a deadline attached.
The UAE has a real outerwear season. It runs October to April, it contains almost every major fitness event on the calendar, and it is the window when branded kit gets worn outdoors, in public, in photos. This guide covers how to source blank jackets and half-zips wholesale in the UAE: which cut to choose, what Blanklines stocks as premium blanks in Dubai, and when to order so the kit exists before the season does. It is part of our complete guide to premium blank activewear and streetwear.
Why jackets are the most under-ordered blank in the UAE
Nobody thinks about outerwear in a city that spends five months above 40°C. That is exactly why the category is under-served — and why the brands, gyms and teams that stock it look sharper than the ones that don't.
Three things happen every year between October and April:
- Training moves outdoors. Bootcamps leave the studio, run clubs peak, padel fills every evening slot, and desert camps and corporate sports days return. Early sessions in a Dubai winter are genuinely cool — a warm-up layer stops being optional kit and becomes the thing everyone reaches for.
- The events calendar stacks up. The Dubai Fitness Challenge runs 31 October to 29 November 2026, and the February race window follows close behind. If your gym or brand is planning merch around the 30x30 window, the layer is the piece that shows up in every outdoor photo.
- Kit becomes visible. A tee disappears inside a gym. A jacket travels — school runs, coffee after training, the walk from the car park. Outerwear is the highest-visibility surface your logo will ever sit on, which is why team kit programmes almost always anchor on it.
And one thing is true all twelve months: air conditioning. Gyms, offices and malls in the UAE run cold year-round. A zipped layer over a uniform tee is not a seasonal product indoors — reception and coaching staff wear them in August.
Full-zip vs half-zip: which cut does your team need?
The choice is simpler than most buyers expect, because the two cuts do different jobs.
Full-zip: the staff and squad layer
A full-zip goes on and comes off without touching hair, headsets or caps. That makes it the default for coaches moving between sessions, front-of-house staff, and anyone layering over a uniform tee they need to reveal. A high neck gives coverage on cold mornings; zipped pockets hold keys and a phone during a session. Worn open, it frames whatever is underneath — which is why it works as the outer layer of a gym uniform programme.
Half-zip: the training layer
A half-zip is a pullover with a vent. The 3/4-length zip lets an athlete dump heat mid-warm-up without taking the layer off, and the clean, uninterrupted chest panel below the zip is the best decoration surface in the category — one reason half-zips have become the default look for run clubs and performance teams. If your buyers train in it rather than stand around in it, this is the cut.
Most programmes we supply end up with both: full-zips for staff, half-zips for the training floor. If the budget only covers one, decide based on whether the layer is worn during sessions or between them.
What Blanklines stocks: the Endurance layer range
Blanklines is a supplier of premium blanks in Dubai — stocked locally, sold blank, ready for your branding. The outerwear range is built around the Endurance family, in black and navy. Black and white is our own brand language; it is also, not coincidentally, what prints and embroiders cleanest.
| Product | Cut | Sizes | Colours | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mens Endurance Full Zip Jacket | Full zip, high neck | S–XL | Black, Navy | AED 260 |
| Womens Endurance Full Zip Jacket | Full zip, high neck | XS–L | Black | AED 260 |
| Mens Endurance Half Zip Jacket | 3/4 zip, high neck | S–XL | Black | AED 240 |
Both cuts share the same construction: high GSM synthetic fabric with a brushed finish for a soft hand feel, antibacterial and anti-odor treatment, raglan sleeves for unrestricted movement, a regular fit that layers cleanly over a tee, and two zipped pockets. The full-zip wears as a lightweight soft-shell warm-up jacket; the half-zip is the leaner training version of the same idea. Low MOQ, ships from Dubai.
The women's range currently centres on the full-zip, which covers the layering slot for mixed-team orders. Browse the full jackets collection, or go straight to men's or women's activewear jackets for current colourways and stock.
The fabric question: what "high GSM" buys you in a layer
GSM — grams per square metre — is the weight of the fabric, and in outerwear it is the difference between a layer that drapes and lasts and one that feels like a windbreaker from a petrol station. We wrote a full GSM guide, but the short version for jackets:
- Weight = structure. A higher-GSM knit holds its shape on a hanger, on a coach, and after fifty washes. It also carries embroidery without puckering — thin shells don't.
- Brushed inner = the warmth mechanism. UAE winters don't need insulation; they need a soft brushed face that traps a little air at 6am and doesn't overheat by 8am. That is exactly the construction the Endurance range uses.
- Synthetic = the right call here. For a warm-up layer worn over training kit, synthetic fabric dries fast and shrugs off the humidity that cotton fleece soaks up. Our activewear fabrics guide covers the trade-offs in detail.
If you're weighing a jacket against a heavyweight hoodie for winter merch, they solve different problems: the hoodie is the streetwear piece your members buy to wear anywhere; the zip layer is the performance piece your team actually trains in. Plenty of merch lines run both — our wholesale hoodies guide covers the other half of that decision.
Branding zip layers: what works
A few placement rules save buyers from expensive re-runs. These are guidelines we give on calls, not product specifications — always approve a decorated sample before a full run.
- Left chest is the default. On a half-zip, the panel below the zip takes a clean left-chest logo. On a full-zip, keep the mark clear of the zip line — left chest or right chest, sized conservatively.
- Embroidery reads premium on outerwear. A stitched logo on a brushed-face layer is the classic team-kit look, and it survives the wash cycle a staff uniform goes through. For large back placements, prints come into play — the methods comparison in our print vs embroidery guide applies directly.
- Back of a full-zip is billboard space. Coach name, club wordmark, sponsor — it's the placement that gets photographed. Half-zips are usually kept to chest and sleeve.
- Sleeves suit secondary marks. A small sleeve hit — established date, flag, sponsor — adds detail without cluttering the chest.
Who actually orders blank jackets in the UAE
Gyms and studios. The winter uniform refresh: coach full-zips over staff tees, and often a member-facing half-zip drop timed to the season. If you're building a full programme, start with the gym uniform collection.
Run clubs, padel clubs and race teams. The half-zip is the warm-up and post-session layer for the winter training block. Run club and Hyrox crews order them for exactly the months this article is about.
Corporate wellness programmes. Company sports days, step challenges and DFC corporate teams cluster in Oct–Nov. A branded layer is the piece employees keep wearing after the event — the logic we laid out in corporate team activewear.
Brand founders. An outerwear piece rounds out a first collection and lifts average order value. Because it's a blank you decorate rather than a cut-and-sew project, the jacket can launch on the same timeline as your tees.
The timeline: order in September, wear it in October
Work backwards from the first cool morning. Sampling first — order single pieces of the cuts you're considering, put them on a coach, wash them, decorate one. Then the bulk order and decoration. Because Blanklines stock sits in Dubai, the supply side of that sequence is measured in days, not the 4–6 week sea-freight gamble an import runs — which matters when the season has a hard start date. September orders wear in October. November orders miss the Fitness Challenge entirely.
MOQs stay low — the same low-MOQ model we run across the catalogue applies to outerwear, so a 20-person team doesn't need to buy like a 200-person one.
FAQ: wholesale jackets and half-zips in the UAE
What blank jackets can I buy wholesale in Dubai?
Blanklines stocks the Endurance range as premium blanks in Dubai: a full-zip warm-up jacket in men's (black or navy, S–XL, AED 260) and women's (black, XS–L, AED 260) cuts, and a men's half-zip training layer (black, S–XL, AED 240). All are sold blank, ready for embroidery or print. Low MOQ, ships from Dubai.
Should my gym order full-zips or half-zips?
Full-zips for staff and coaches — easy on/off between sessions and a cleaner uniform look worn open or closed. Half-zips for the training floor — the 3/4 zip vents heat mid-session and the chest panel takes a logo beautifully. Mixed programmes usually run both.
Can you add our logo?
Yes. Send your artwork through our Design Studio and we'll advise on placement and method — embroidery for the premium team-kit look, print for larger placements — and produce a decorated sample before the full run.
Do you deliver outside Dubai?
Yes. Orders ship from Dubai across the UAE and the wider GCC, including Saudi Arabia. Same stock, same low MOQ.
When should I order winter team kit in the UAE?
September. The outdoor season starts in October and the Dubai Fitness Challenge opens 31 October 2026 — sampling in early September leaves comfortable room for decoration and delivery before both.
Layer up before the season does
The UAE's outdoor window is short, visible and photographed. The teams that look like teams in it placed their jacket orders in September. Browse the jackets collection, or talk to us about quantities, decoration and timelines — we'll have samples moving the same week.
